Oceanside Village Incorporation Survey

Do you have an opinion on the incorporation initiative? After more than a year of presentations conducted by the OVI team, it is your turn to speak out! Please take a minute or so to respond to the short survey below. Before doing so, we urge you to at least take a brief look the materials on this website to gain an informed understanding of the benefits and costs of creating our own, independent city. We will close the survey on October 31, 2025, at 7 p.m. and announce the results.

This survey is open to all, but we will break down the responses by geographical area.

The OVI Team invites your input as we all decide whether to proceed with a petition to incorporate "Oceanside Village" as Oregon's newest city. Local control of construction standards and zoning

Use of locally generated lodging taxes from short-term rentals ("TLT") for Village roads

More direct access to elected city council members (as compared to county commissioners elected at- large)

Opportunity to control TLT "tourism" revenue for use on local projects like trails, facilities and emergency preparedness measures

Opportunity to develop local code enforcement measures (parking, noise, fireworks)

Opportunities for local interaction with short term rentals on concerns and requirements.

Oceanside Village's viability as a small city depends on whether enough full- and part-time Villagers will help set budget/policy priorities by joining City Council advisory committees. Which of these would you consider joining if your time permits?
